This series of 3 illustrations are part of my last work, which has a speech of dignify to the female gender regardless of its species.

Unfortunately the violence against to woman is a big problem in many countries, embedded in many cultures (the double moral immersed in the day to day).

I am Mexican, I was born in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, it is full of colour, traditions, but unfortunately as same as the most of the latin countries we are living a depth violence against to women in all the levels, oral violence, sexual violence, psychologic violence and in many cases the violence finish in murders.

There is in particular a kind of gender violence tortures my brain that is the comparison between animals (female) with women as offense, how if the animals were garbage. My intention with this work is try to dignify female and expose my point of view , it is a complement to be compare with animals, because for me they  are the most beautiful specie, honest, pure, lovely that inhabits this world full of cruelty.

It may be difficult to understand the series if Spanish is not your first language or you are not from a latin country, that is why I am going to explain the double meaning these kinds of words have in latin culture.

Words for female animals with offensive meanings

Zorra (Fox female): Bitch, hooker.

Perra (Dog female): Bitch, Slut

Gata (Cat female): Maid, ordinary, wanka

HEMBRAS (FEMALES ) are my way of glorifying and dignifying women and the powerful ones that make us when someone call us zorras, perras or gatas for me it means that we are honest, faithful, loving, intelligent and daring.

Let´s change the speech, let´s start to stop the female violence from the beginning from the smallest, from what we think is the most insignificant.
