Jade, who is known as La Niña Negra, is a Mexican animator, illustrator and creative art director living in New Zealand.
She loves to engage in projects oriented to original storytelling, while delving into handcrafted methods to apply her own concept creations. Jade collaborates with other brands as an illustrator and motion graphics artist in assorted projects and she enjoys working with clients who present different challenges.
Unlike many artists, she tries to find projects that focus more on rustic designs and experimentation within traditional arts than precise details.
Why La Nina Negra (“Black Girl”)?
I adopted this name when I began creating my signature artwork in Mexico. The colour range is based on low key tones (related to darkness) which prevail throughout my artwork and it is from here that my nickname comes from.
